Cell Site Analysis is a process used by both prosecution and defence to understand the location of a mobile handset when calls or SMS have been made or received during a period of interest.
Once a handset (mobile phone) number has been attributed to a suspect / defendant then our experts are able to use the historic call data (also referred to as CDR ) provided by the mobile network operator to determine the geographical area where the mobile phone has been used. This information can then be used to support or dispute other evidence available in an investigation.
Disklabs experts will produce court ready reports which use the Call Data Records, along with network surveys to determine geographical location / movement of attributed mobile telephone/s.
Disklabs cell site experts have a detailed knowledge of the architecture of mobile telephone networks for radio coverage of GSM (2G) and UMTS (3G) and have an advanced knowledge of the signalling protocols used over the air interface (handset calls to mast/cell).
